Course Description

The TSC SMBD Course teaches students how to use and deploy a Submersible Marker Buoy from depth using a diving reel. The Etobicoke Olympic pool is used for this training.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn how to attach an SMB to a reel and fill the SMB with air orally or from the LPI hose. Students will then deploy the SMB in a controlled manner to the surface simulating the signalling of a diver below to any potential traffic that may be present at the surface of the water.

Includes

The TSC SMBD course includes use of the pool, instruction, tanks and weights. The purchase of an SMB and reel from the TSC store is required to participate in the course. The rental of BCD and regulators are available if needed from the sign up menu. Students are required to have their own mask, fins and snorkel for this course.
