Course Description

The TSC DSMB Course teaches students how to use and deploy a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy from depth using a diving spool or reel.

What You Will Learn

Students will learn how to attach their DSMB to their spool and fill the DSMB with their octo and with their primary regulator exhaust. Students will then deploy the DSMB in a controlled manner to the surface, simulating the signalling of a diver below to any potential traffic that may be present at the surface of the water.

The TSC DSMB course includes use of the pool, instruction, tanks and weights. The purchase of a DSMB and spool from the TSC store is required to participate in the course. The rental of BCD and regulators are available if needed from the sign up menu. Students are required to have their own mask, fins and snorkel for this course.

Advanced Open Water Linking

TSC also includes DSMB training as an adventure dive in our PADI Advanced Open Water course. If you are taking the Advanced Open Water course with TSC, inquire about doing your DSMB training in open water as part of this course.
